Cricket Club Clothing.
Anston Cricket Club have teamed up with CF Sports to deliver an on line club shop for our members.  We believe that the partnership will have tremendous benefits to both the club and members alike.

    • How do we log onto the site?
    The shop is hosted on the CF Sports website www.cfsports.co.uk and will be, in future, available as a link through our own website.

    When will the website be available?
    You can register on the site now.  Many products are already on line with others being added soon

  • Register on the site at the log in panel on the home page.

    Congratulations to Vicky and John Lyne.
    Vicky gave birth to Jacob John Lyne at 05:35 on 9th April. Jacob weighed in at 8lb 1oz and both he and Vicky are doing well.

    'Chance to Shine' Details.
    Alan Vollans manages and runs the Chance to Shine initiative in conjunction with the Cricket Foundation and the YCB on behalf of Anston CC as he did last season.  The coaches working this year with C2S are Andrew Barley, Graham Tweed, Patrick Gada and himself with Patrick set to do the "lions" share of the coaching in schools.

    New Coach / Player.
    Name: Patrick Gada
    Age: 29
    Nationality: Zimbabwean

    Anston Cricket Club would like to extend a warm welcome to Patrick Gada.  He is a right hand batsmen middle order and right arm medium pace bowler who has played 15 first class matches in Zimbabwe.

    He has an extensive coaching and playing experience in the UK and Ireland with clubs in Dublin and the South of England. Last season he played for Addington in the Kent League and scored over 1000 runs and grabbed over 65 wickets in the season. Over the winter months he has been playing and coaching in Christchurch, New Zealand.

    He is a proven, excellent Level 2 coach, and, will be running the Anston CC 'Chance to Shine' initiative which we currently have running in six local schools.  He ran the Addington 'Chance to Shine' last season and his references from the schools were first class.

    He is a very affable and enthusiastic and we believe he will be an excellent addition to the club this season.   He will arrive in Anston on Tuesday 1st April so given fair weather should be at the outside nets on Thursday evening.   I am sure everyone at the club will give Patrick a warm welcome and make his stay with us a very enjoyable and successful one.

    Congratulations to Jane Blackshaw & Michael Carlisle. Jane recently has given birth to baby twins - a boy and a girl and all doing well but still in hospital..

    Cricket Force update.

    The Annual Dinner & Presentation has been booked for the evening of Saturday 18th October 2008 19:00 for 19:30 at Bondhay Golf Club. The date is for your diaries to avoid double booking!!
