Help required.
We have become the victims of our own success - so much so that Friday evenings are threatening to swamp the Club coaches
who are trying to run training on a Friday. We only have half a dozen Friday evening sessions left but need YOUR
help. We start at 16.30 and finish around 20.30. Can you give an hour or so to come and help our coaches
out to work with the small children who are learning our game.
The atmosphere on a Friday evening is great with lots of families around, but we do need some more help for an hour or
two. Please come and see for yourself - speak to Alan Vollans or Richard Chapman/Andrew Barley when you arrive.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Janet King.

Can you help at all? We are experiencing a high volume of interest from spectators at 1st and 2nd XI matches on
Saturday afternoons at the Ryton Road ground. We could do with some help in running the bar. We would
welcome any offers of help from members - it may be that you could do all afternoon, or you could do an hour or so?
If you feel you can help please let me know - thanks. Janet King. 01909 564605.

Junior Practice
Dear all,
Indoor Coaching at Dinnington is now completed (cannot use the Hall Monday 5th April - no Caretakers) and indoor Coaching at
Wickersley is still to be held Tuesday 6th April (19:00 - 20:30) - and this will be the last this year.
I am inviting all the Under 13's that have been going to Dinnington on Mondays to go to the Wickersley nets on Tuesday 6th April and
I am also inviting all the boys and girls who have been attending the Academy (and any others that have/are to Register) to come to
a Practice session at Anston CC on Monday 12th April 18:00 - 19:30, and, the U13's who have been attending Dinnington/Wickersley
nets (and any others that have/are to Register) to come to a Practise session at Anston CC on Tuesday 13th April 17:00 - 18:30.
It would be good if we could sort out the squads over this period and gain some more helpers with the running of the U11 soft
ball and hard ball teams

Working Party Required - 10th April.
The pre-season working weekend will commence at 10:00 on sat 10th April. There is lots to do, what with games
beginning the following weekend, so please try and make the effort to come to the ground and lend a helping hand.
It would be especially nice to see some faces that don't usually help out (you know who you are). We had a good
turnout at the end of season shut down and all the tasks where completed in one day. If we have the same commitment
this year, then yet again, we should be able to get everything done in one day and we can have the Sunday to practise if the
weather is fit.
Please be aware that this WILL NOT be cancelled if there is inclement weather, you're allowed to bring a coat!!
There will be bacon and sausage butties, tea and coffee as usual.

Neil Froggatt - Sheffield Half Marathon.
Neil Froggatt is running, so children don't have to...Please can you support him?
On Sunday 25th April, he will be running in the Sheffield Half Marathon for SAFE@LAST. He know's this is going to be
an extremely difficult challenge - come rain, wind or snow, he's going to have to train (whether he feels like it or not) while
most of you will be chilling out in front of your T.V's! And though this challenge will be difficult at least it's something he has
chosen to do rather than been made to do. That's why he is asking for your support and donations.
SAFE@LAST works throughout our region providing vital services for vulnerable youngsters who have to face their own Extreme
Challenge due to being thrown out of the place they call home while others do not feel safe at home and feel they have no other
choice than to run away. Many of them have little option but to sleep rough for many nights of the year in all weathers
risking their physical & mental health whilst also exposing themselves to the dangers from drugs, alcohol & crime as well as
becoming possible victims of physical & sexual assault.
More than 4000 children under 16 years old are forced to flee an abusive home, incidents of bullying, broken family
relationships etc in OUR area. Neil wants to make sure these children have somewhere to turn for advice, support and
practical help... He's sleeping rough to raise money so that SAFE@LASTcan continue to run its vital services and to keep more
children safe.
Please visit his JustGiving page:- http://www.justgiving.com/Neil-Froggatt
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them
on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid
is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - He raises more,
whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So please dig deep and donate now.

The late George Moore. Former President of Anston Cricket Club.
Members will be pleased to know that South Anston Methodist Chapel was packed for the funeral on 7th January 2010, of George
Moore our former President. Together with family and friends, the Club was well represented by many members and
former players.
Sheila and family would like to thank everyone for their cards, condolences, and donations in lieu of flowers to the RNLI of
which George was a lifelong member. The expressions of condolence and good wishes have been a great comfort to
Sheila and all the family.
Well in excess of £600 has so far been donated to the RNLI. If anyone would like to make a donation, they can do so via Mrs
Sheila Moore.

The club has been trialing Sunday afternoon family opening. The last was quite successful, if people would like to come down,
the club will be open on the 31st January, for a snail race recovery session, 12:00 - 18:00. If people do want to

Anston CC and Sheffield Childrens hospital Scanner Appeal Event.
Hi everyone,
Anston Cricket Clubs big charity concert is now booked and will be at the Lyric Theatre, Dinnington on Saturday 27th feb 2010.
All the funds raised will be shared between the cricket club and the Sheffield Childrens Hospital Scanner Appeal.
The acts are booked and are giving their time free of charge. They include Captured, a top male/female singing duo from Rotherham.
The SD Crew, an international award winning street dance troupe based in Dinnington. Andy Taylor, a top class magician also from Dinnington. Our very own Chris Smith, international cabaret act extraordinaire and you never know, i mite even be coaxed onto the stage!!!!
We are hoping that the evening will be compared by Gaz Shanks AKA Captain Blade, but that is yet to be confirmed.
I will let everyone know when tickets are going on sale and the cost.
Chris and I organised a similar event in sept 2007 which was very successful so make no mistake this event will sell out.
We are now actively seeking a sponsor for this event and would be grateful if you could all ask your bosses if they would interested in helping out these two worthy causes. £250 covers the cost of the Lyric for the evening.
Also we need some raffle prizes from local companies. If any one has any good ideas then please let me know.
I can be contacted at ash_morton@hotmail.co.uk 01709 532024 or 07879453438.
Many thanks
Ashley Morton.
